Beaded Ornaments

Christmas Beaded
Ornaments #1
Toy Soldier
This Christmas beaded ornament is just way too cute. You
don't even need to add facial details as they look fine with just the
wooden beads.
Supplies
1 1/2 pipe cleaners
7 Oval shaped wooden beads
5 round wooden beads
How to Make a Beaded Christmas
Ornament Toy Soldier
 |
Take
a full pipe cleaner and bend in half (but don't cut it).
|
 |
From
the folded end, thread on one oblong shaped wooden bead about half way
down.
|
 |
Now take 1/2 a pipe cleaner and twist it in
the middle just above the wooden bead to form two arms.
|
 |
Now thread on a small round wooden bead
from the folded end for
the toy soldier's head. Add another oblong wooden bead for
the hat, leaving enough of the folded pipe cleaner to thread string or
ribbon for hanging on your tree.
|
 |
Now to create the arms, simply thread on
two oblong shaped wooden beads and bend the pipe cleaner back to hold
in place.
|
 |
To make the toy soldier's legs, take the
pipe cleaner that is hanging out from the bottom of the body and spread
these two ends apart.
Thread on each leg a small wooden round bead, an oblong bead and finish
with another round bead. Bend back the pipe cleaner to hold
in place.
|
If you want to add a bit more to this beaded Christmas ornaments by
painting on some eyes, mouth, etc. I like to leave them just
as they are. as this gives it a more rustic old fashioned look to the
Christmas tree.

Christmas Beaded
Ornaments #2
Snowman Beaded Christmas Ornament
This one is really easy and looks adorable hanging from the X-mas Tree.
Supplies
1/2 pipe cleaner (your choice of
color)
1/4 pipe cleaner (your choice of color)
1 large round wooden bead
1 small round wooden bead
Ribbon
How to Make a Beaded Christmas
Ornament Snowman
 |
Take
the 1/2 pipe cleaner and fold in half (but don't cut).
|
 |
From
the folded end, thread the large wooden bead slightly lower than the
middle of the pipe cleaner.
|
 |
Using the 1/4 piece of pipe cleaner, wrap
this around the other pipe cleaner just above the large wooden bead.
This becomes the snowman's scarf.
|
 |
Thread the small wooden bead leaving some
pipe cleaner on top. I like to bend this part of the pipe
cleaner down to make it look like the snowman is wearing ear muffs.
|
 |
Now fold back the two ends hanging out of
the body of the snowman to hold the bead in place. We bent
ours forward to make it look like ice skates, but however you want to
bend to hold in place is fine.
|
That's all there is to this cute beaded Christmas ornament.
With enough wooden beads and pipe cleaners you can fill your
whole Christmas tree with snowman ornaments.

Christmas Beaded Ornaments
#3
Beaded
Christmas Tree
Supplies
5 Green Pipe Cleaners
Several clear pony beads
A handful of colored pony beads
How to Make a Beaded Christmas
Tree
 |
Take
one green pipe cleaner and form a circle, twisting the two ends
together.
|
 |
Cut
the remaining pipe cleaners in half.
|
 |
Take each half of the green pipe cleaners
(saving one for the top) and bend one end around the circle base.
You should have seven pieces tied to the circle shaped pipe
cleaner.
|
 |
Now thread each one with clear and colored
beads, mixing and matching colors however you want to. Leave
room at the top of each pipe cleaner to wrap around the top circle
which we will make in just a bit.
The beading is a great job for the smaller children but just make sure
they don't put these small pony beads in their mouth.
|
 |
After each pipe cleaner is beaded, take the
remaining 1/2 pipe cleaner and cut in half again. Now twist
the two ends and form a small circle.
|
 |
Wrap the ends of each beaded pipe cleaner
around the small circle to form the top of your X-mas tree.
This will give it a tree shape.
|
To hang this beaded Christmas ornament on your tree, simply string some
ribbon through the top of the tree and tie it in a knot. This
kids craft ornaments can also be a standing table top Christmas tree
decoration. They stand great on their own and do not require
any additional support.

Christmas Beaded
Ornaments #4
Reindeer
Beaded Christmas Ornament
This Christmas beaded ornament requires a bit more work and
pipe cleaner twisting skills, but
it is absolutely adorable so well worth the time.
Supplies
3 1/2 red or brown pipe cleaners
4 oblong wooden beads
5 small round wooden beads
How to Make a Beaded Reindeer Ornament
 |
Take
the 3 full pipe cleaners and bead an oblong wooden bead half way down.
|
 |
Take
one end of a pipe cleaner on each side of the wooden bead and bend up.
These will be the reindeers horns and tail.
|
 |
For the pipe cleaners that are bent up,
pull on one end making it slightly longer than the other. The
longer end will be the head and horns.
|
 |
Thread a round wooden ball through the
longer end of the pipe cleaner. Bend the remaining end of the pipe
cleaner up to hold the head in place. We will get the horns in just a
bit.
|
 |
Take the shorter end (the tail) and bend it
in a loop to form the tail.
|
 |
Now for the legs. Take an oblong
shaped wooden bead and thread through each end of the 4 pipe cleaners
that are bent down from the body. Next thread a round wooden
bead and bend back the pipe cleaner to hold in place.
|
 |
The last step is the create the horns.
With the 1/2 red pipe cleaner, cut it in half again.
Take one of these cut pieces and twist it around the pipe
cleaner end that is sticking out from the reindeer's head (close to the
round wooden bead).
|
 |
Take the remaining cut pipe cleaner and cut
into smaller pieces to twist around the two bigger horns. You
can have the horns be as many as you want or only a few (it's up to
you).
|
To hang this beaded christmas ornament on your tree, simply tie some
ribbon underneath the reindeers head for hanging. This cute
christmas kids craft can also be a table top decoration. It
stands on it's own with no extra support and will look great next to
your beaded Christmas tree.
