How to Make an Accordion Easter
Bunny
 |
Take
your small paper plate
and cover the front with glue. Then place cotton balls on the
glue and let it dry. This will be the bunny's head.
|
 |
Using
the pink paper, cut out some bunny ears and glue to the back of the
small paper plate.
Tip: You can use two different colors of pink to give the
ears a cute look.
|
 |
Glue on wiggle eyes. Cut your
pipe cleaners or yarn to form
whiskers and glue these under the eyes. Now use the yarn or
pipe
cleaner and form a mouth. Lastly, glue on the pink pom pom
for
the bunny's fuzzy nose.
|
 |
Decorate the bottom of the large paper
plate. This will be
the bunny's dress so pick the color you want her to wear. Cut
this plate into the shape of a dress.
Cut two or three small flower shapes using the pink paper.
Glue on
green buttons to create the center of the flower. Flue these
flowers
to the dress.
|
 |
Cut out 14 strips of the pink paper the
width of your ruler along the
long length of the paper (11"). These will be used to create
the
accordion neck, arms and legs.
Take two strips and place one horizontally and the other vertically,
overlapping at the very end of the strips. Now you will begin
to fold
these together to create the accordion. See next step for
illustration
and directions for folding.
|
 |
Take
the horizontal strip and fold (left or right depending on where the
strip starts) over the vertical strip.
Now
fold the vertical strip (up or down) over the horizontal strip. Repeat
this until both strips are completely folded together.
|
 |
Use
two strips for each arm. For the legs, glue 2 strips together
creating one long strip. Repeat for the other leg so that all
together the each leg uses 4 strips. For the neck, cut about
1"
off each strip to make the neck a bit shorter.
|
 |
Glue
the accordion pieces in the proper place. For the neck, glue
this
to the bottom of the small plate and at the top of the large paper
plate dress.
|
 |
Cut out some hands and feet using the pink
paper and glue these to the ends of the arms and legs.
|
You can add some extra touches to this girl bunny by adding a ribbon in
her hair or cut out a bonnet to glue to the top of her head.
You can also make a boy version of this craft.
