Mobile
|
|
 |
Decorate
both sides of the paper plate using crayons or markers. Use
multiple colors to get a colorful display.
|
 |
Cut
off the rim of the plate.
Then continue cutting around the edge of the plate to create
a
spiral. Leave enough room at the end to punch a hole for
hanging.
|
 |
Cut out several different eggs (in
different sizes) with the colored construction paper.
|
 |
Decorate the front and back of each egg in
your own design.
Tip:
You can cut some of the eggs to look like a broken egg.
Then print out some fun Easter clip art and glue these to the
egg
to look like the Easter animals are sitting in the broken egg.
|
 |
Punch several holes around the spiral paper
plate. Then punch
a hole in each egg and place thread through the holes and tie them off.
You can hang some of the eggs sideways to give it a fun look.
Tip:
It is easiest to see how long the thread needs to be if you
hang
your paper plate from a coat hanger. This way you can see
each
egg dangling to help determine how long the thread needs to be.
|
| Hang this mobile in your house or the classroom for some
really cute Easter decorations. If doing this as a classroom
project, you can have each child write their name on the back of the
Easter egg.

Easter Egg Crafts #2
Easter Egg
"Treat" Tree
This kids craft idea is "yummy" as well as a great Easter decoration.
Supplies
8 to 10 Green or Brown Pipe
Cleaners
3 Small Egg Shaped Styrofoam
Paints
Wrapped Easter Candy (Egg shaped)
Ribbon
Scissors
Hot Glue
How to Make an Easter Egg Treat
Tree
 |
Cut
your styrofoam eggs in half lengthwise. Decorate 5 halves
with paint and allow them to dry.
Tip:
If using multiple colors on the eggs, allow the first color
to
dry completely before adding the next color. Use lighter
colors
as the base and the darker colors for the design. Or only
paint
the portion of the egg with the colors you want.
|
 |
Wrap
the pipe cleaners together half way up to form the trunk of the tree.
|
 |
For the branches of the tree, wrap 2 pipe
cleaners together (from
the top half of the grouped pipe cleaners). Bend and shape
into a
branch.
Tip: 2 pipe cleaners give the branches more
strength to hold your candy. If you are using larger or
heavier
candy, add more pipe cleaners and then use 3 pipe cleaners for each
branch.
|
 |
Using Easter colored ribbon, cut several
pieces for hanging the
candied eggs. Using a hot glue gun, create a loop at the top
of
each piece of ribbon.
|
 |
At the end of the ribbon, hot glue your
covered Easter egg candies.
Be careful where you place the hot glue as you don't want
this to
get inside the wrapper.
|
 |
Take your styrofoam egg halves and form a
circle (with 4 halves)
and one in the middle. This will be your base for the tree.
Hot glue the eggs together.
|
 |
Stick the trunk of the tree (grouped pipe
cleaners) into the middle egg. Now hang your candied eggs on the tree
branches.
Tip:
This step becomes a balancing act. When hanging the
candy
hold the base and then hang the candies in a way to even out the weight.
|
Some variations for this egg craft is to use a large
styrofoam egg for the base instead of the smaller ones. You
can
also use a terracotta pot and use flower foam. Another fun
and
different way for this craft is to use an actual tree branch.
Then hange some plastic eggs filled with candy.

Colored Tissue Paper
Double Stick Tape
Scissors
How to Make a Silhouette Sun
Catcher
 |
Trace
several egg shapes onto your craft foam. Draw a design on the
egg.
Tip: These designs need to go from edge to edge of the egg to
make the silhouette effect work.
|
 |
Cut
out the egg shapes making sure to not cut through the section of the
egg where your design meets the edge.
|
 |
Place double stick tape around the egg
design on the back.
Cut out a piece of tissue paper and place this on the back of
the
craft foam over the double stick tape.
|
 |
Tear or cut away excess tissue paper.
|
 |
Repeat for all your egg shapes.
Tip: You can add multiple colors to your eggs. Just
stick on each color in the section of the egg.
|
 |
Stick on some ribbon or suction cup
attachment on the back and hang on your window.
|
These colorful eggs will show off
their colors when the sun shines through.

Easter Egg Crafts #4
Foil Art
Egg Collage
This
kids craft idea is great for kids who love to paint. It's
perfect
for the little ones as they don't have to worry about painting outside
the lines. The only warning is that this requires permenant
markers or paint pens so clean up is a bit more difficult.
Supplies
Poster Board or Card Stock
Permanent Markers or Paint Pens
Scissors
Yarn
Egg Shaped Templates
Glue
Aluminum Foil
Tape
How to Make an Egg Candy Dish
 |
Cut
a large egg out of the poster board.
|
 |
Cover
with foil. Just tape the ends of the foil to the back.
|
 |
Cut out several egg shapes. You
can use this template here.
|
 |
Place the template on the foil and place
glue all around it. Remove the template.
|
 |
Place colored yarn on the glue.
Repeat for each egg shape you want to place on your collage.
|
 |
You can add some designs to your eggs by
outlining with glue and then placing yarn on the design.
|
 |
Allow the glue to dry. Then color
and decorate your eggs with the markers.
|
You can
hang this on the wall to add a great Easter decoration.
