Fall Wreath Craft for Kids

This simple fall wreath craft will make a great decoration for Thanksgiving and throughout the fall season. We made ours a Thanksgiving wreath in celebration of this holiday. We used the center of the plate to write what we are thankful for. You can do the same or use a holiday picture in the middle or other fun fall decorations to complete your wreath.

This one is fairly easy and inexpensive at is uses simple paper products and craft supplies. Younger children may need help with the cutting of the leaves. But let them do all the gluing so that they can show off their beautiful wreath when it's done.

Supplies

Colored construction paper
Dinner sized paper plate
pencil (for tracing)
Scissors
Glue
Marker (optional)

How to Make a Thanksgiving Paper Crafts Wreath

Step 1

Create 3 to 4 different leaf shape templates for tracing. You can use this template here or create your own leaves.

Step 2

Trace the leaf shapes using several different fall colors of contruction paper. Make sure you have enough to go all the way around the paper plate.

Step 3

Cut out the leaf shapes and arrange them by different colors and shapes.

Step 4

Glue the leaves around the plate leaving the center of the plate open for writing your Thanksgiving message.

Step 5

In the center of the plate, write "I am thankful for" and put what you are thankful for. Write your name and date it.

Step 6

Option: If you want to hang your plate on the wall, simply glue or staple string on the back of the plate for a hanger.

Other options for this fall wreath craft idea is to decorate the center of the plate with a fall picture or glue on some feathers, twigs or other fun and unique items.
