Fathers
Day Crafts for Kids
These Fathers day crafts are perfect for kids to make. If you want
something quick and easy, not to mention inexpensive, to make for
Father's day then these kids craft ideas are perfect. Dad will love
that you made them yourself and he can look at each day.
You can make the "Dad Rocks" paper weight or a cool picture frame with
you as the star. If you want, make them both for dad on his special day.
Each of these kids crafts for dad have the list of craft supplies
needed, step by step instructions and a picture of the completed
project. So let's get started and make dad something really neat.

Fathers
Day Craft #1 - Dad "Rocks" Paper Weight
This was our favorite one to make. These rock characters are just so
cute and very easy to make.
Supplies
1 Small/Medium Rock
Pipe cleaners
Craft Foam
Wiggle Eyes
Hot Glue
Scissors
How to
Make a "Rock Dad" Craft
| Step 1 |
Find a rock in
your yard that will stand up on it's own and have enough room to glue
the facial features and accessories.
|
| Step 2 |
Cut out and glue
on the hair. You can use yarn, pipe cleaners or even fuzzy pom poms.
We gave ours some spike hair doos using pipe
cleaners.
|
| Step 3 |
Next glue on the
wiggle eyes, nose and mouth. You don't have to have all the facial
features. For one of ours we glued on some really furry looking yarn
for a mustache instead of making a nose and mouth.
|
| Step 4 |
Create some
arms, ears or what ever you want with pipe cleaners or craft foam. We
used pipe cleaners to create big ears for the one rock dad and coiled
up pipe cleaners for arms for the other one. Glue your pieces on the
rock.
|
| Step 5 |
Lastly, give
your rock character some feet. We used really big feet on the one and
wrote the words "Dad Rocks" on the feet. For the other one we have him
really big hands (from craft foam) and attached a sign to the hand that
says "Dad Rocks". |
Just
use your imagination and make your Father's day crafts gift special and unique
to you. You can even add accessories like a bow tie, hat or what ever
you can think of. You can even make your rock look a bit like your dad
by using the same hair color, hair style, etc. Go wild with these cute
little "Dad Rocks" crafts.

Fathers
Day Craft #2 - Dad Picture Frame
Supplies
1 Store Bought Frame
(hint: go to the dollar store for the frame)
Misc. Items
These can be nuts and bolts, fishing stuff, etc.
Paint Stick or Colored Marker
Hot Glue
Picture
Scissors (to cut picture to size if needed)
How to
Make a Photo Frame for Father's Day
| Step 1 |
Purchase an
inexpensive picture frame the size you want. We get ours from the
dollar store.
|
| Step 2 |
Decide which way
(portrait or landscape) your picture will be. Then with the paint stick
write your message along the sides of the frame.
|
| Step 3 |
Next glue all
your items you want. We used all electrical parts for ours as the dad
this frame is going to is an electrician.
Tip: Think of things your dad likes and use items that related to that.
It could be fishing lures and hooks if he likes to fish or nuts and
bolts if he likes to fix things.
|
Finish off this craft for dad by placing a picture of you in the
finished frame.
For another fun Fathers day crafts idea try making him this windsock.
