Ghosts Halloween Craft
Glue ghosts make a great Halloween craft for kids of all ages. Since
ghosts have no particular shape even the young kids can make a ghost
that looks real. The great thing about this kids Halloween craft idea
is that it is so easy and really inexpensive. You can dress up your
ghost or just add eyes and a mouth to the ghost.
You can make fun and friendly ghosts or make the shape more spooky.
Just hang these around the house for some great and easy Halloween
decorations.
Supplies
White glue
Wax Paper
Black paper or marker
Buttons, beads or other accessories (optional)
Paper clip
How to
Make Glue Ghosts for Halloween
| Step 1 |
Lay out wax
paper. Use one large sheet to hold all the ghosts you plan to make or
set out several smaller sheets of wax paper for each one. |
| Step 2 |
Pour the glue
onto the wax paper starting with the outline of your ghost shape. Then
fill in the rest of the ghost with the glue.
Tip: If you want to have a really scary looking ghost leave some spots
empty (no glue) to create a neat and different looking ghost. |
| Step 3 |
Leave the glue
on the wax paper to dry completely. This can take 2 to 3 days depending
on how much glue and how big the ghosts are. |
| Step 4 |
For this step,
you can add the eyes and mouth (and other accessories) while the glue
is still wet. Just cut out some eyes and a mouth with black paper and
lay them on top of the glue where they need to be.
Tip: In order to keep the paper from sinking into the glue, wait for
about an hour before doing this step. This gives the glue some time to
set up but will still be wet so the paper will stick. |
| Step 5 |
If you want to
dress up your ghost, add some buttons, ribbons or what ever you want
while the glue is still wet. Just set the items where they need to be. |
| Step 6 |
As an option to
cut out eyes and mouth you can wait until the glue is completely dry
and then draw them on with a black marker. |
| Step 7 |
Once the glue is
completely dry it will blend in with the wax paper. Simply (and
carefully) peel your glue ghost from the wax paper. |
| Step 8 |
Using a paper
clip, poke through the glue at the top of the ghost. Then simply put
some string on the paper clip to hang these guys around the house or
classroom. |
For this kids Halloween craft you will have to be patient to wait for
them to dry. The thicker the glue the sturdy the ghost however the less
see through they will be. Try several different ghosts in different
shapes. Make some heavy in glue and some less. You can even add some
fun webbing or white tissue paper to these ghosts. Just add these items
while the glue is still wet.
