Wiggle eyes (optional)
How to
Make a Handprint Turkey Paper Bag Puppet
| Step 1 |
Lay your paper
bag on the table with the flap is facing you. This flap will be the
turkey's head.
|
| Step 2 |
Using
the colored construction
paper, trace and cut out several hand prints. These will be the
turkey's feather. Glue
on the feathers to the back of the paper bag. Put the
feathers in any design you like. |
| Step 3 |
Cut out two more
smaller handprints using the
orange paper. These will be the turkey's arms. Glue these to the sides
of the turkey's body below the flap of the paper bag.
|
| Step 4 |
Using
orange construction
paper, cut out a triangle shape for the turkey's beak. Glue just the
top half of the triangle to the bag just below the eyes.
|
| Step 5 |
Cut out a red
wiggly wattle and glue this under the beak letting it hang slightly to
one side.
|
| Step 6 |
Draw
two eyes on the turkey's
head. If
you want,
you can glue on wiggle eyes instead of drawing them but make sure they
are really glued on as this is the part of the bag that moves the most
when the kids are playing with it. |
As an option for this kids Thanksgiving craft you can add
legs as well. Just cut them out with paper and glue them to the bottom
(inside) of the bag. Although this adds to the puppet, remember the
kids will be playing with this one so make sure they are glued on
really well.
This paper bag craft for kids is so easy and yet they will have hours
of fun. Paper bag puppets are a fun and easy kids craft idea and can be for anytime of the year. Check out all these paper bag animal crafts for more ideas.

Thanksgiving
Paper Bag Craft #3
Paper Bag Cornucopia
This Thanksgiving kids craft idea will make a great centerpiece for
your dinner table. It's easy and the kids will have fun coloring or
cutting out pictures of the fruits and vegetables.
Supplies
1 brown lunch bag
Pictures of fruits and vegetables from magazine or coloring pages
Glue
Scissors
Stapler
How to
Make a Paper Bag Cornucopia
| Step 1 |
Cut
your brown lunch bag in half and cut off the bottom so it is flat.
Now roll it into a cone shape and glue or staple in place.
Tip: I like to stuff it with a piece of newspaper to keep the
cornucopia fluffed out.
|
| Step 2 |
Fold
back the front of the cornucopia (about 1/2 to 3/4 " of the paper bag).
|
| Step 3 |
Now
go through some magazines and cut out pictures of fruit and vegetables.
As
another option, find coloring pages with fruits and veggies and let the
kids color them for the cornucopia kids craft project. I
think this is
more fun for the younger kids as they love to color.
|
| Step 4 |
Glue these pictures to the front of the cornucopia (on the side flap)
so that it partially covers the opening.
|
There
you have it, a beautiful center piece cornucopia for your
Thanksgiving table with a simple and easy paper bag crafts kids can do.
You can alter this kids paper bag craft idea by using brown
construction paper or
a dinner plate (and color brown). Make this kids craft with
what ever supplies you have on hand.
