Paper
Bag Tiger Craft for Kids|
|
This paper bag tiger craft for kids is a "sleek" little guy with his
black stripes and orange fur. This one is a bit more challenging than
your typical paper bag puppet crafts.
Instead of turning this cute
little tiger into a puppet, we made him stand on his four legs so he
can sit at your favorite table and watch over things for you.
Although this one is a bit trickier it is still easy for kids, is
inexpensive and fun to make. So grab a couple of paper bags, get out
the orange and black paints and let's get ready to make this paper bag
crafts idea.

How to
Make a Paper Bag Tiger Craft
| Step 1 |
Paint both your
paper bags orange and let it dry. You can also just purchase an orange
bag. Be sure to paint the bottoms of the bags as well. |
| Step 2 |
Take one of the
bags and fold over the top like you would if you were wrapping a
present. Tape the ends together to close up the bag. |
| Step 3 |
Take your second
bag and fill it half way with scrap paper making sure the bottom of the
bag stays flat looking. Then twist the bag to close it and fold the
remaining part of the bag to form a flat end and tape it closed. This
will be your tiger's head.
|
| Step 4 |
Cut out two eyes
in a diamond shape with the white paper. Draw two black lines from the
top and bottom points of the diamond (these are the pupils). Outline
the eyes with black marker and glue these to the bottom of the filled
bag (the bottom of the bag becomes your tiger's face). |
| Step 5 |
Cut your white
pipe cleaner into 6 equal parts. The lengths do not have to be exact
but close in size. Glue these below the eyes where the nose will go (3
on each side). Leave enough space in between for the black pom pom.
|
| Step 6 |
Glue on the
black pom pom for the nose. Cut out two ears using the
orange paper. Glue these on top of the tiger's head. Set the tiger's
head aside for now.
|
| Step 7 |
Using a black
marker (or black paint and a thin paint brush) create a bunch of
stripes on the over paper bag (this is the tiger's body).
|
| Step 8 |
Using the orange
paper cut out 4 legs making the bottoms (the feet) flat so it can
easily rest on the table. Glue the legs to the sides of the paper bag
(2 on each side - front and back).
Tip: Don't make the legs too long. The shorter legs give this guy more
stability and will stand up much better.
|
| Step 9 |
Take your black
and orange pipe cleaner and twist them together. Form it into the shape
of a tail and glue one end to the back of the tiger's body (bottom part
of the bag).
|
| Step 10 |
For this last
step on your paper bag tiger craft, you need to put the tiger's body
and head together. Place glue on the tiger's head (the end that is
twisted and taped down). Press this to the tiger's body. You will need
to hold this for a bit until the glue begins to dry.
Tip: Before gluing it together, make sure that tiger's head is not
hanging too low. Make the bottom of the head rest on the ground but no
lower than where the feet touch the ground.

This fierce (but adorable) paper bag tiger will look great sitting on a
table, your dresser or even at your desk. If you want some other wild
animal friends to go with your paper bag tiger, try making this sitting
paper plate lion craft for kids.
