Paint
the bottom of the flexible paper plate green and let it dry.
Once
the paper plate is dry, turn it over and mark the middle with a dot.
From this point, measure out 1 1/2" from the middle to each
side.
Draw a line on these marks and fold the
paper plate along each of the lines. This will let the paper
plate rock when it is standing.
Cut out the bird's head with the small
paper plate.
Tip: You can also use card stock for this step.
Paint the bird's head green and the beak
red or orange. Cut feathers onto the top of the head and
color these red and orange.
Tip: Decorate both sides of the bird's head.
Glue on wiggle eyes on both sides of the
bird.
Using an exacto knife (have an adult do
this or supervise), cut a slit in the large paper plate near the front
of the plate (about 2" from the front). Slip the bird's head
through this slit and bend the tab to hold in place.
Cut out feathers and a tail and glue to the
paper plate.
