Plate Christmas Tree
Kids
Christmas Crafts
This
paper plate Christmas tree is so easy and inexpensive to make and kids
will love making it and decorating it. With just a couple paper plates,
some green crayons or water colors and items to decorate it with, your
kids can easily get this kids Christmas craft done in less than an
hour. So plan some time for a family craft or as a school project.
There is very little gluing and cutting so teachers can easily
supervise several kids at one time.
You can simply hang this
tree on a wall or do like we did and put it in a pot. The decorations
can be pony beads glued on, stickers pasted every where or even paint
them on free hand. You can use colored ribbon or yarn for garland or
just stay with ornaments only. So use your imagination and make your
Xmas tree the way you like.

How to
Make a Paper Plate Christmas Tree Craft
|
|
| Step 1 |
Color the
insides of both plates with your green crayons or water colors. You can
also use regular paint or markers, however using paint can sometimes
make the plates warp a bit.
|
| Step 2 |
Cut both plates
in half. Now take one half of one of the plates and cut in half again.
|
| Step 3 |
Set one of the
half plates down on the table with the green side facing you. Cover the
plate just above the rim with glue. Now take another half plate and
position it just above the rim of the other and press against the glue
(again with the green side facing you).
|
| Step 4 |
Repeat step 3
for the other half plate. Then glue on the two smaller sections (1/4 of
the plate) on top of the half plates.
|
| Step 5 |
Decorate your
tree with beads, stickers and even ribbon.
|
| Optional: Glue
on a colorful ribbon on a small terracotta pot. Glue on a craft stick
on the back of the tree making sure there is enough of the stick to
place in the pot. Then put floral foam in the pot and simply stick the tree in the
pot.
If you do not want your tree potted simply put some string on the back
for hanging on a wall or door. These paper plate Christmas trees can
really decorate up your house or classroom.
In addition to this paper plate Christmas tree try this egg carton Xmas
tree. It is adorable and you can place it on a table and show
it off.
