fun and easy pipe cleaner ornaments make a great kids Christmas craft
idea. With just some X-mas colored pipe cleaners and some bending and
twisting, you can fill your whole tree with these fun ornament crafts.

Christmas ornament crafts are one of the funnest, easiest and least
expensive X-mas craft ideas.There are the traditional ornaments
like the pipe cleaner looped garland, Christmas wreaths and of course
the pipe cleaner candy canes. Snow flakes, spiral ornaments and other
shapes can also be made from pipe cleaners.
In fact, if you can twist
it and shape it, then you can make just about any type of ornament like
a bicycle, skates, or even a sled. On

Candy Canes
These
have been a traditional kids Christmas ornament crafts for many years.
In fact I bet even your great-grandparents made these when they were
little.

2 Different Colors of Pipe Cleaners
Scissors

How to
Make Pipe Cleaner Candy Canes
| Step 1 |
Using
two different colors of pipe cleaners, cut each in half to make two
candy canes.
For bigger candy canes, simply use the full
length of pipe cleaner to make one candy cane.

| Step 2 |
Twist
the two pipe cleaners wrapping one around the other all the way down
the length of the pipe cleaner. |
| Step 3 |
Now
shape the pipe cleaners into a candy cane shape and it's ready to hang
on your Christmas tree. |
| Step 4 |
Optional:
Add a small bow to the middle of your candy cane.

You can use traditional Christmas colors for this pipe
cleaner ornaments or
go with your tree's color theme. You can even twist two of these candy
canes together to make a larger ornament. Just tie a bow to help hold
them together and add some more flare.

Wreaths
make a beautiful addition to any Christmas tree. These small X-mas
wreaths made from pipe cleaners will add color and joy to your tree.

Colors of Pipe Cleaners
Scissors
Beads (optional)
How
to Make Pipe Cleaner Christmas Wreaths
| Step 1 |
Using
three different colors
of pipe cleaners, cut each in half to make two Christmas wreaths.
For bigger wreath ornaments, simply use the full
length of pipe cleaner.

| Step 2 |
Twist
the three pipe cleaners until the end of the pipe cleaner.
You can also braid these rather than twisting. This
will give it a slightly different look and mix of colors.
Tip:
Try making some with small twists and some with bigger twists. Braid
some of them as well to mix and match the X-mas wreaths on your tree.

Now twist
the ends together and
bend
back onto the wreath.
Taking a small piece of one color of pipe cleaner, twist it
onto
the bottom of the wreath in the middle and then shape each end into a
bow.
Tip:
You can just let the ends of the pipe cleaners hang down to look like
ribbon. Instead of using another pipe cleaner for a bow, try gluing on
a small Christmas bow. |

Optional:
You
can add pine cones or bows all around your Christmas wreath by using
different colored pipe cleaners and simply twist them onto the spot you
want and then shape them.

For a fun variation to this pipe cleaner crafts, try adding
different color and size beads to represent the items on the wreath.

Pipe Cleaner Ornaments #3
Christmas
Garland
This
one is the easiest of all but will add lots of color to your Christmas
tree. You can even hang this garland around doorways and windows.
Supplies
Christmas colored pipe cleaners
Scissors
How
to Make Pipe Cleaner Garland
| Step 1 |
Take the
different colored pipe cleaners and cut each one in half. For an even
smaller loop, cut in half again.

| Step 2 |
Take the first
1/2 pipe cleaner and bring the two ends together. Twist to hold in
place and shape into a circle (loop).

| Step 3 |
Take the next
pipe cleaner and thread one end
through the loop of the first one you formed. Then twist the two ends
together and shape into a loop. |
| Step 4 |
Continue
repeating step 3 alternating colors as you go. Make the garland as long
as you need for your tree.

You can add fun variations to this garland by adding a
snowflake (made from pipe cleaners) here and there. You can use just
two colors or several colors. Try mixing and matching and use colors
that match the theme of your Christmas decorations.
This
Christmas garland made from pipe cleaners can keep the kids busy for
hours. Try making time each night to add to the length of the garland.
