These flower vases use simple crafts supplies, recycled materials, ribbons and your imagination.  These are inexpensive but very colorful and will look great holding your flowers.

You can use these vases to hold the flowers you make or flowers you buy.  Either way, the flowers will look great with these beautiful vases you make.

So rather you choose to use a styrofoam cup, or re-use an glass jar or even an empty coffee can, just be sure to brighten it up with your favorite colors or match the colors of the flowers you plan to put in your vase.

Vase Craft for Kids #1
Styrofoam Tower Vase

This one is really inexpensive and simple to make but looks so elegant when it's done.

styrofoam cups vase craft for kidsSupplies

2 Styrofoam Cups
Stickers, Markers or Paint
Ribbon
Hot Glue
Scissors

How to Make a Styrofoam Tower Vase

bullet Place the two styrofoam cups together bottom to bottom and hot glue in place.

bullet Decorate each cup as desired.

Tip:  Stickers work best or wet transfers.  If you want to paint your cups, paint them first then glue together.  Just remember that one cup (the bottom) will be upside down once it is put together.

bullet Hot glue ribbon around the top rim, bottom rim and between the two cups.

bullet Place something a bit heavier in the bottom of the top cup to help hold this vase up.  We used clay and then poked our stems into the clay while it was still soft.

As a nice variation to this kids craft idea, glue on a lace doily to the bottom cup as a frilly base.

Vase Craft #2
Seashell Glass Jar Vase

This one is very easy and looks as unique as the shells you will use.

seashells vase craftSupplies

1 Glass Jar
Toilet Paper Cardboard Roll
Seashells (small to medium size)
Rice
Food Coloring
Ribbon
Tissue Paper
Hot Glue
Scissors

How to Make a Seashell Vase

bullet Clean your jar and remove the label using warm soapy water.  Let it dry.

bullet Cut the toilet paper roll 1" shorter than the jar.  Place hot glue on the bottom of the roll and place in the middle of the jar.

Tip:  This is where you will place your flowers.  If you are planning on using real flowers that need water, then you need to use a plastic tube instead of the cardboard roll.

bullet Fill the jar with seashells between the cardboard roll and the edge of the jar.

bullet Using white rice and the color of your choice, color some rice.  Gently pour in the rice to fill in between the shells.

We used blue coloring to make it look like water.

bullet Finish off your vase by hot gluing ribbon around the top.

Just place your flower craft inside the cardboard roll and top it off with some matching colored tissue paper.

Vase Crafts for Kids #3
Coffee Can "Rags to Riches" Vase

We call this one rags to riches as the torn paper look gives it the "rags" look and the beautiful flowers you will place in it gives it the "riches" look.

coffee can scrap paper flower vase craftSupplies

1 Coffee Can
Colored Construction Paper
Ribbon
Tape
Craft Scissors
Hot Glue
Tissue Paper

How to Make a Vase from a Coffee Can

bullet Clean out the empty coffee can and let it dry.

bullet Using the colored construction paper, cut out several large strips to look like rags.  You can use craft scissors to give each edge a fun jagged look or just create your own jagged edges with regular scissors

bullet Tape the pieces of paper to the coffee can.  Overlap the pieces and colors to create a fun "rags" look.

bullet With ribbon, create loops and hot glue to the top and let the loop hang over the edge.

Tip:  You can use just one color or use multiple colors to match the colors of your paper.

Place some clay or floral foam in the bottom in order to poke the stems of your flowers.  This big flower vase deserves lots of big and colorful flowers.

Vase Crafts #4
Stained Glass Vase

This kids craft idea has a neat stained glass look just using inexpensive tissue paper.

tissue paper stained glass look vase craftSupplies

1 Glass Jar
Colored Tissue Paper
Ribbon
Scissors
White Craft Glue
Hot Glue

How to Make a Stained Glass Vase

bullet Remove the label from the jar using warm soapy water.  Let it dry.

bullet Cut or tear several pieces of different colors of tissue paper.  These can range in size from 1" squares to 4" squares.  Each piece does not have to be the same size.

bullet Pour your white glue onto a paper plate or plastic lid.  Using your finger or a craft stick, spread the glue onto one section of the jar on the outside.

bullet Begin placing the tissue paper on top of the glue.  Overlap the pieces to create a new color and an overlapped look.  If you need to, dip your finger into the glue and spread on top of tissue paper to allow the next layer to stick.

Tip:  Don't worry if there is glue uncovered by tissue paper as it will dry clear.

bullet Continue to add more glue and tissue paper until the entire jar is covered.
bullet Complete your flower vase by hot gluing some ribbon around the top.

Just add your flowers to show off this vase craft.
